From the Caribbean Examinations Council’s (CXC) website:
The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is a regional examining body that provides examinations for secondary and post-secondary candidates in Caribbean countries.
CXC offers a wide range of subjects in academic, technical and vocational areas for candidates of varying ages, abilities and interests from the English-speaking Caribbean and the Netherlands Antilles and Surimane.
Syllabuses for CXC examinations are developed by Caribbean educators who work in sixth form schools, community, state and teacher-training colleges and universities. Specialists from the private sector, commerce and industry are also consulted to ensure relevance. CXC has established itself regionally and internationally as an examination body that adheres to high standards in syllabus development, examination administration and marking, and in the details of the certification that it provides.
In addition to providing examinations and certification for secondary and post secondary candidates, CXC uses its in-house expertise and technologies to provide technical assistance and consultancy services to both the public and private sectors across the region. These services include: the development of syllabuses; preparation and administration of national examinations; training in school-based assessment; item writing and other aspects of measurement and evaluation; analysis and preparation of reports of students’ performance; preparation of resource materials.
The site is fairly comprehensive but can use some tightening. Of import to exam candidates in the immediate however would be online access to May/June 2011 examination timetables for Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) at http://www.cxc.org/examinations/timetables.

The QRC Store opens on Saturday 17th July, 2010 at the Queen’s Royal College compound.
Catering to both current and past students of QRC and, of course, anybody else affiliated to the school, the store will stock an expanding range of student supplies and Royalian merchandise including textbooks, stationery, art supplies, scientific equipment, sport gear including replica football shirts, college art and memorabilia, novelty and gift items, and event tickets. The store will afford its customers the convenience of being able to purchase all things Royalian on the College compound, and the knowledge that in so doing they will be making a financial contribution towards the College. The profits are being shared between the store operator and the school.
In addition to be open Monday to Friday, the store will be open on Saturdays during the July/August holidays as well as during the school term whenever QRC has home games for Intercol and the Secondary Schools League.
For inquiries, please call: (868) 393 1759 or (868) 489 7477.

Courtesy Old Boy and track enthusiast Hayden “Tom” Noel, we have video of the QRC 4x400m team’s exploits in the High School 4x400m at the 2010 Adidas Grand Prix in New York City recently. The video captures the second, third and final legs of a race against some of the top schools in the world.
According to Tom:
QRC winning the 4x400m for High Schools at the Adidas Diamond League event in New York (June 2010). Excuse the shaky start (guy sitting next to me bumping my arm) and the shouting (my Uncle being overly exuberant…understandably so [as a QRC Old Boy himself]!) Great race overall and excellent last leg from Jehue Gordon.
