Matthew Temple, with 18 points, and Bill Fryar, 16 points, were the main contributors to ISPS’ victory, sinking the bulk of their team’s baskets to produce the home win.
The visitors’ scoring was well led by Kemrick Julien, who posted a match-high 20 and was instrumental in helping his team outscore their opponents 27-25 in the second half of the game.

Queen’s Royal College’s Under-20 basketballers continued their hot streak at the Jean Pierre Complex, Port of Spain, on Friday, when they beat Fatima College 59-50 in the NGC/Express Secondary Schools Basketball Association North Zone.
The Royalians are now three-from-three after wins against HYPE and the International School of Port of Spain (ISPS) earlier this week.
Again, point guard Shemuel Bartholomew was the main aggressor, sinking 25 points, to lift his team to victory. Halfway through the final period, the game could have swung either way, but QRC stole the momentum towards the end and the result as well, as Fatima faded in the closing minutes.

Queen’s Royal College’s Under-20 basketballers ran past International School of Port of Spain (ISPS) 62-32 at the Jean Pierre Complex to register their second victory of the 2008 Express/NGC Secondary Schools Basketball League (SSBL).
Shemuel Bartholomew set the stage for QRC, leading the way with 19 points as he fought for every loose ball.
ISPS, though, could have been much more competitive in the encounter, had they sank more first-time attempts. Their defence was regularly pierced by the romping Royalians and only during the final minutes of the first half did they fight back, making the score 24-16 in favour of QRC at halftime.
Bill Fryar was the main reason. Apart from his 18 points, the centre certainly contested every ball and every shot, and even launched himself into a spin and fake combination, sinking two points that had even the opposition cheering.
But in the second half, D’Javan Walker (12 points) and Jaeon Bobb (11) stepped up their shooting, as QRC scored 38 points to ISPS’s 16, to take them to an impressive win.

Ragoonanan’s second innings hundred came in time to help his team reach 154 for four after they were bundled out for 93 in their first innings against Union Claxton Bay Senior Comprehensive. UCB replied with 164 all out to secure the first innings victory.
In the North/East Zone, St Mary’s College, who had some shaky performances against El Dorado Secondary Comprehensive and Hillview College last week, came back into contention with a solid showing, declaring their first innings at 159 for nine and followed it up by bowling put QRC for 87.
