CIC come from behind in School Rugby Final – TRINIDAD EXPRESS
Posted by admin in Rugby, SPORTSt Mary’s College edged Queen’s Royal College 25-23 to lift the Digicel Secondary Schools Rugby Football League final title recently.
QRC appeared to be in an unassailable lead going into the dying minutes of the final. At that point, the score was 23-11 in their favor. It however all went terribly wrong for them in the final three minutes when Zane Campbell attempted a drop goal from the opposition 22 metre line. The attempt was wide left but he cleverly chased the wide kick. This put the QRC defence under immense pressure. And not wanting to give away a try, they illegally obstructed Campbell’s path to the ball. The referee had little option but to award a penalty try, which was converted.
