Paraphrashed from a communique prepared by Wayne Marcano, Geography Teacher and Assistant Athletics Coach, and forwarded to QRC Link by Principal Willliam J. Carter:

PENN RELAYS 2007

The Athletes’ team selected to represent Queen’s Royal College at the PENN RELAYS 2007 are as follows:

ZWEDE HEWITT

RORY JOHN

SHERMUND ALLSOP

ADRIEL PRESCOD

CHRISTIAN BENJAMIN

GENESIS WALDRON

The team will be accompanied by Mr. Edwin Skinner (Coach) and Mr. Wayne Marcano (Assistant Coach). The team leaves Piarco on April 24th on Caribbean Airlines flight BW424 at 12.30 p.m, and arrives at JFK International Airport at approximately 5:40 p.m.

From the airport the team will travel via road to Camden, New Jersey where the team would be staying at the Marriott Hotel, close to the Philadelphia border and to the stadium in which the competition would be held.

The team is outfitted with the following Kit:

1: 1 Body Suit

2: 1 polo shirt

3: 1 t-shirt

4: 1 short pants.

I have asked athletes to bring along warm clothing considering the recent weather pattern in the north east USA, noted to be unusually cold at this time of the year. We tried to get track suits in QRC colours from our suppliers but were unsuccessful.

The team is to train on Wednesday and Thursday to get acclimatized to the conditions. We are scheduled though to begin competitive activity on Friday April 27th at approximately 12:30 p.m. Based on our performance on the Friday, we will be placed in a category on Sunday April 29th, and our aim is to be entered in the Championship races for large secondary schools on Sunday.

Following our participation in the games, we are expected to leave the hotel on Sunday 29th in the early afternoon and travel to New York via road. Our return flight, Caribbean Airlines flight BW425, leaves JFK in New York at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Monday 30th, to arrive at Piarco International Airport at 6.30 a.m.

Thanking you in advance for your kind cooperation and for your continued support.

Queen’s Royal College is in online encyclopaedia, Wikipedia. The page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen%27s_Royal_College features a comprehensive summary on the College, includes a list of notable alumni who themselves have pages in Wikipedia, and it contains links to a handful of QRC-related websites.

The page’s history suggests that it (the page) was created in June 2005, and it has been edited several times since its first version. Some refining and citations are required though, and the wider College community is encouraged to contribute to the responsible polishing of this encyclopaedia entry.

Wikipedia (IPA: /ˌwikiˈpiːdi.ə/ or /ˌwɪkiˈpiːdi.ə/) is a multilingual, web-based, free content encyclopaedia project. Wikipedia is written collaboratively by volunteers from all around the world. With rare exceptions, its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the Internet, simply by clicking the edit this page link. The name Wikipedia is a portmanteau of the words wiki (a type of collaborative website) and encyclopedia. Since its creation in 2001, Wikipedia has grown rapidly into one of the largest reference Web sites on the Internet.
